Where Is PortMiami?

A view across PortMiami

PortMiami is located on Dodge Island, a man-made island connected to downtown Miami via the PortMiami Tunnel (State Road 887) or the Port Bridge. As the world's busiest cruise port, it handles approximately 7 million passengers annually.

GPS Address -- Most Terminals: 1015 North America Way, Miami, FL 33132

Some cruise lines provide terminal-specific addresses, such as Royal Caribbean Terminal A at 1435 North Cruise Blvd, Miami, FL 33132.

How To Get To PortMiami

From Miami International Airport (MIA)

The simplest option is rideshare or taxi, typically taking 20-30 minutes depending on traffic:

  • Uber/Lyft: approximately $20-$30
  • Taxi (flat rate): approximately $27

There is no direct public transit connection to the cruise terminals, though some cruise lines offer paid shuttle services.

From Downtown Miami

A short Uber or taxi ride (under 10 minutes) reaches the port. Walking to terminals is discouraged due to heavy vehicle traffic and limited pedestrian access.

From Miami Train Stations

Amtrak Station (Hialeah): Located 10 miles from PortMiami at 8303 NW 37th Avenue. Taxi or rideshare takes 30-40 minutes.

Tri-Rail Station (Miami Airport): Involves multiple transfers via MIA Mover and Metrorail Orange Line to Government Center, then taxi/rideshare to the port. This budget option is time-consuming with luggage.

Brightline (MiamiCentral): Disembarking at downtown's MiamiCentral Station, you're a 10-15 minute taxi or Uber ride from the port. Some cruise lines offer paid shuttles from nearby hotels.

Shuttle Services and Hotel Transfers

Several hotels near downtown Miami and the airport offer cruise shuttles (typically for a fee):

  • Hilton Miami Airport Blue Lagoon (from $17)
  • Courtyard Miami Downtown/Brickell Area (some rates include shuttle)
  • InterContinental Miami (concierge arranges transfers)
  • YVE Hotel Miami (shuttle from $8)

Transportation Apps and Tools

Helpful applications include:

  • PortMiami App: Real-time terminal information
  • Google Maps or Apple Maps: Live traffic updates
  • Uber or Lyft: Quick terminal access
  • GetYourGuide or Viator: Airport transfers and excursions

Parking at PortMiami

On-site parking garages and surface lots charge approximately $25 per day or part thereof. Disabled veterans with Florida documentation receive free parking. Visit the official PortMiami website for complete details.
